Jeff Koons’s Play-Doh is made up of twenty-seven individual interlocking pieces of painted aluminum and took two decades to fabricate. Definitely not child’s play!

The Art Assignment - 11. Under The Influence

So for this I chose my friend in my art class, and I’m just annoyed that I’ve no pictures of her work. But basically, my friend’s chosen medium of art is painting, while mine is more photography. She tends to do this kind of silhouette work - painting a coloured background then adding a black subject in the foreground. She also goes for this kind of a casual look for her paintings, preferring paper to canvas.

To work in this style I ripped a page from an old notebook, and worked from the inspiration of one of our favourite songs; Coldplay’s Yellow (and yes, I’m aware I can’t write in straight lines, I’m left-handed).I’m not muchof a painter so I didn’t work with any difficult subjects like people or even skylines like my friend does, just a basic tree and then I added some stars.

This was fun and seeing as I’ve only painted like twice in my life I’m pretty proud of the result, but I think I’ll stick to photography and leave the painting to my friend.
